Zoo, walks and rocks, oh my!

We have been so busy. I'm not even sure where to start. We were able to do the March of dimes walk this year. It was so much fun. We were blown away when we got there and saw all that had been put into it. There were tons of things for Jude to busy himself with. He was even so good to hold still and let a stranger paint a tiger on his face. It was adorable. We also have been so busy in our backyard. Marc decided one morning that we should make a rock border in our backyard where it meets the mountain. Next thing I knew he had a huge sharp crazy tool he was swingin around and then we were loading up rocks into Ken's truck. Jude was all about that part of the project. :) We started wondering if we had just created a safe haven for our neighboring rattlesnakes. Then later that night we found one on our porch that turned Marc and I both into sissy little girls. NICE! We also had a great trip to the zoo where Marc got spayed in the pants by the ginormous elephant and it looked like he had an accident. Made me so happy. We also welcomed two new cousins into the family and one is having a rough start. She is sick and hangin out in the NICU until she is all better and we can't wait to get to know them both better.

                                                      Helping give Sundance a bath

Such a little turkey. It's always going to be messy when he has been quiet too long.

The Walk

The post nap tiger face. There was a good face print on his sheet. We had to wake him up and he wasn't thrilled about it.

Picking Rocks with Daddy

Still loves to push this thing everywhere

Getting a drink on our hot bike ride

New rain coat and boots from Grandma

Bad Sundance, but secretly kinda sweet so I sneaked a picture before she got the boot

Enjoying our morning coffee. AKA Spinach smoothie. This is what Jude does when you ask his to show you his teeth

Hugs everything. Especially animals. Today he was hugging his plate that has monkeys on it and got ketchup on his cheek.

The Zoo, and of coarse hugs

So happy playing in the rocks until he fell in. Would have loved to caught that on camera.

I couldn't stand to end on a sad one so here is Jude dancing to daddy's southern gospel music. He's filled with the spirit!!

The photoshoot

I was at buy buy baby and some girl asked if  she could take Jude's pictures and we'd get a free print. He was a total mess so we came back another day and got a few shots taken. They are so Jude and I am so glad we'll have them to remember him at this age.

Mommy's Mommy notes

We are loving may. Cannot get enough of this perfect weather. We are always outside which keeps us both sane. Poor Daddy has to work nonstop so Mommy can blow all the money on fun activities. :) We go up the canyon quite a bit and lots of bike rides. Just a few Mommy notes. Jude's favorite activity right now is throwing rocks. It's 10x the fun if we go somewhere he can throw the rocks in water. He is getting so big and acting it as well. He loves to interact with Marc and I. Marc taught him how to tickle us and it is so funny to him. Every morning when I tell him lets go have breakfast. He immediately starts putting in his request. Chips and Salsa. Although I would actually love chips and salsa for every meal, I have to deliver a big let down to him and give him something a little more breakfasty. He is obsessed with taking the garbage cans in and out. He cannot understand why we don't push them all over town. He is also into and has been forever I have just never made a note of it, any nursery rhyme type song that has accompanying hand gestures. LOVES them!! He is also a totally sucker for anything soft. Yesterday at the store he found a cookie monster hanging on a wall and ran over ripped it off and laid on top of it. He will do this with pillows and blankies as well. He refers to himself as baby and I am Mom mom. Marc is of coarse crystal clear daddy. Loves watching motorcycles as well. He also does this funny thing when he runs. He tucks his left arm in and swings his right arm really fast. Not sure he goes a lot faster then his walk which makes that much cuter. I think that should bring me up to speed on him when I have forgotten all the madness of this age. :) Just a few pics. I am in a total picture taking slump.

Besties!!

Busy throwing rocks out back.

Play play play. The life of a 18th month old

I feel like life is so go go go when you're chasing after a toddler. I have felt super drained lately and I am only just now connecting the dots. It's cause we run around all day!! :) I love it and all. But, I am pooped! I am always looking for out of the house activities to help the lingering days crawl a little quicker. Although, now that I have a toddler I can't figure out how it happened so quickly. Maybe the days don't crawl as slowly as I think. Jude is talking more and more everyday and I respond to every word as if it is his first. I overreact a lot. :) Today is the first day he has started saying more then just one word at a time. he says them as one word but they are more. Example, when he sees something he wants he points and says "awantat" I finally deciphered to it to be I want that. Today he also said "I stuck" I could hardly help him get unstuck I was so shocked. I also am a very proud Momma today. He said Chip and salsa. Then he proceeded to drink the salsa! Atta boy!! I also feel like a starving monster has awoken in him. I have vented and vented about this boy not eating and he finally has unleashed this starving creature. I am thrilled! I wish I could describe how awful and eater he has been. Words don't do it justice. He is also starting to play in his crib more and more at nap time and fighting his sleepy time. I am hoping this doesn't mean my one break during the day aren't numbered. PLEASE not yet Jude-0. Can't believe I almost forgot to mention. I finally broke down and chopped his hair. A small piece of me died. I had a strangely hard time with it. Hated it the first day and was totally moody for the rest of the day. Such a girl. Ha ha! Now I love it. Presenting the New and much older Jude. (prepare yourself)
Isn't he to die for! Love him. The process was funny thing. I was trying to hang onto his shag. I was trying to see if she could just trim it up and she did and we paid and were half way out the door when I just couldn't take it anymore. I hated it. So I had the poor girl do it again. I don't know who was more put out about it. Her or Jude. I decided the shag days were gone and she could take it all off. I love his concerned face.
Marc and Jude up the canyon. We usually make it up there every weekend. But love this pic of these two.
Together again. Jude and Sundance, and pre haircut shag. I did love it. I just couldn't take him being called a girl anymore.
We hit Thanksgiving points animal baby day. It was so so darling.
Finally hit the tulip festival after years of saying we were going to do it.
Jude is really loving Sundance more and more each day. And for Sundance, Well... She tolerates him. She's been pretty beat up by him. She usually tries to make a run for it when she sees him coming. But sometimes she gets nice surprises like hugs and walks.
Gardening. Jude loves peas. So I planted some for him. Well, we did. I had him help.
We had an eventful day. We met up with our old friend Bryan and had a great time at the Provo Beach resort. I don't know who was more excited He or Jude. They were cute together. Jude thought he was so cool and so so funny. And Bryan is pretty dang funny. He has a great sense of humor. Which does not exclude burping the alphabet.
Then we needed to cool off and I got this lizard thing, that Jude insists is a turtle, for super cheap and we put it to good use. Jude was mostly all work more then play. He would fill up his buckets and dump them in his little pool. However, by the time he made it there the buckets didn't have much water left.
Getting some free ice-cream at Thanksgiving point.
Waking up in the morning is so so sweet.
