Baby do

Jude has entered the independent phase of toddlerhood. Everything is "baby do" (yes, he still refers to himself as baby) he has also entered a whole different level of busy. He is SO curious about anything and everything going on around him. He wants to do anything we are doing and totally unassisted. "baby do!"

We had an amazing weekend. We went to snowbird and had so much fun there. It is so beautiful and we love checking it out.

Then we went camping. We went with the mindset that if Jude hates we'll pack up and head home. He loved it. He was so busy checking everything out. He was head to toe filthy with in 15 minutes of getting out of the car. He loved eating food from the fire and went straight to sleep when we put him down. He did amazing and we can't wait to do it again.

(this was seriously about 20 minutes after we arrived)

(Baby do)

We headed down to Midway to get some breakfast. YUM!

Then we decided last minute since we were so close to head to Park City for a quick walk through.

Jude is so into the real Chant right now. He wants to watch it over and over. This is him watching it on the iPad while I take advantage to the free time to get ready in the morning.

We had a great 24th. We kinda pooped out on the 4th so we wanted to make up for it a little bit. Marc bought some fireworks and we thought for sure Jude would get bored pretty quick but he didn't. He was GLUED to every last firework and asked for more when we were done. He was so cute. We started with the snakes and he kept trying to blow the fire out.

We put the pops/snaps things on the ground and let him stomp on them. After each pop he would go "OHHHHHH" with that funny face letting us know he most definitely approved.

(Is there anything on my face? Good, that would be so embarrassing.)

I also want to make a quick note that Jude got his first bee sting this week. It wasn't even from him picking up a bee or messing with one. He stepped on one in the backyard. Cried real hard then we picked up the dead bee and told it "no no bee" several times and he seemed to be fine after talking to the bee. Now every bee he makes sure to tell "no no bee" but still tries to pick it up.

Summertime and the livin is easy

We are surviving this summer staying as close to water as possible. I have learned for Jude all he really needs is the hose. It doesn't matter what kooky water stuff I have bought nothing will compete with the hose.

We went to the Veterans pool the other day and Jude was obsessed with the slides. I finally had to tell him they were all gone or night night or something so we could leave. He'd say "one, two, three... WEEEEEEE!"

All the boy cousins on the Duncan side. Splashing where I am pretty sure it is prohibited. Boys will be boys. :)

Sucker for anything soft.

I used to think I wanted all boys, but I think somewhere in me I kinda want a little girl. Although I would never style her hair like this.

Besties love to watch out the window

Throwing food to the ducks!!

Grandma's candy drawer. Jude goes straight for this thing. He can hardly reach to see what's in there but he feels around and is never disappointed.

Totally going through a Motorcycle phase right now

Loves his blocks right now. It's so fun to build things and then knock them down.

*Also a little side note, that tiger in the background. Jude will roll and jump on that guys for the longest time. He LOVES his tiger.

21 months update

This kid is go go go. He is more and more fun everyday. I am dreading the day that the terrible twos kick in and pop our bubble.
Things he is in to right now:
Vacuuming! He lives for it. The first thing he asks for when I walk into his room in the mornings or when we have been out of the house and we pull up to the garage he immediately puts in his request for the vacuum. He is obsessed!!
He is also into colors lately. He knows blue, green, yellow and red. I'm guessing his favorite is blue. Today he rounded up all the blue shades of crayons to bring with us. That's all I've got though. He is so heart melting when he says yellow. We make him say it all day long.
The other thing is is super obsessed with right now is jumping. He counts to three and jumps. Sometimes it's just one...threeeeeee jump.
He is still loving gorillas and tigers. More specific baby tigers.
Suckers are his favorite candy. Favorite food is waffles and "honey salsa."
We are also working on abc's, he is so cute to repeat every letter. Makes us realize we need to think before we speak. :) he's in repeat mode.
Phrases he says right now, "there ya go" and if he's done with something he'll hand it to you and say "thank you." of coarse lots of "I want________ ." everything we ask him right now is "no" still loves salsa, which is anything sauce like.
Cute Jude-isms I don't want to forget:
The other day at my mom's he went around the room and gave everyone a kiss. Some people two or three. Jude loves to look at pictures of himself and I was flipping through a few on my iPad and was asking him who is that he would point at himself and answer "baby" which what he calls himself soon I flipped to the picture of him with a tiger painted on his face and repeated the question and he said "baby tiger"
When he gets an "owie" it always helps for him to point at it and say "no no owie" or whatever object hurt him he'll tell it "no no!"

Vacuuming!! I love that he has now mastered how I hold the cord while I vacuum.

I made some fourth of July cupcakes and I turned around to get a picture of Jude with his and this is what was left.

Things we've been up to lately:'

Celebrated his second fourth of July. We went to the parade and spent time with family. We were all super tired and opted out of fireworks this year.

Finally made it to the high Unitas. Marc is obsessed and he finally got us all up there and we had a great time playing on the rocks and waterfalls.

We also went to park city and got rained out. We stopped by the zermott resort in midway on the way home and Jude had sooo much fun playing with the huge chess pieces and figured out how to stack them. He also found some great puddles to splash in. Dying to try his rain boots and we didn't have them.
