We just couldn't stand the thought of being without snow for Christmas. So less then a month after arriving in CA we loaded up the Subaru and headed west for home and Utah didn't not disappoint. We woke up Christmas morning to beautiful, fresh fallen snow. It was complete magic.
Marc couldn't wait to get up to Midway to track the progress up there on the home. There was so much snow we had to call someone to come plow the road after a scary and unsuccessful attempt to brave it on our own. We did finally make it up there and it was worth the effort.
Avi quickly turned Grandma's house into an obstacle course. Big brother couldn't resist the fun.
Jude loves playing with avengers and was having a ball with grandma's new avenger stuff.
We felt it was a must to do Temple Square lights.
Christmas Eve is a little crazy in our family. Marc and my family both do a big party. We try to make it fair the best we can and split it.
This is Jude talking every one's heads off. Milo tried his hardest to explain to Jude what a chatter box was and Jude didn't seem to get why he was telling him.
Grandma got some amazing gift for everyone. She knocks it out of the park every single year.
The cousins do a gift exchange as well. Avi was thrilled to go after a present.
Hugs to the gift receivers and givers.
Then it was off to Grandma Pat's For some Bingo and more gift giving. Jude was so into the Bingo game. There was a toy car in there that he was dying to win. And any game that involves yelling is a fun game in his book. Jude was such a goof and he was feeling so good and was doing happy dances after opening presents. Video to come.
Jude loved being a big brother and helping Avi open presents and show him how they work.
SANTA CAME
Jude was the CUTEST thing on Christmas Eve. He literally fell asleep singing Santa Clause is Coming to Town.
Jude was pretty impressed with his haul
Avi had no idea what to think. He was just happy to have a full belly and a clean bum.
Christmas Day we toured all the Duncan families and got to spend some time with them and seeing how good Santa has been to them. (No picture from our visit with the Murdocks. :( )
Grandma Pat called us to let us know Santa had left a present there for him. So we rushed down to see. Jude was floored when he saw it was bigger then he is. It was a motorized car. We left it in the box to get it home safely. And it was totally changed Jude's world.
I was hoping Jude would get to sled when we came out and we were so glad Daddy made it happen for him. Avi slept through the whole thing.
But he got some delicious pizza and wondered where it had been his whole life.
Grandma had a ball feeding these guys some yummy bread.
Jude faking to be asleep holding Avi's hand. Silly boy. I thought it was still sweet even if he was faking. Avi was not faking. Out like a light.
Christmas can be crazy. Avi made up for lost sleep wherever he could.
Jude loves to hear stories. It is the sweetest thing. He will listen so intently for really long periods of time. And ALWAYS wants more. (or moorah)
It was hard to say goodbye. But we got the car all loaded up with Christmas goods and hit the road. It felt nice to be back in our own turf but we had an amazing Christmas and we are so grateful for our family and all the generosity they showed us.
